Stamford 148th District Special Election: Candidates, Polling Places, Hours

A special election has been scheduled for Feb. 28 in Stamford to fill the vacancy left by Daniel Fox, a Democrat, who resigned in January.

STAMFORD, CT — The special election for the 148th House District is scheduled for Feb. 28.

The district covers the area from Glenbrook down to the Cove.

The Candidates

The special election was called to fill the vacancy left by Daniel Fox, a Democrat, who resigned at the beginning of January before the new legislative session began. Fox was reelected to another term last November.

Anabel Figueroa was endorsed by the Stamford Democratic City Committee last week. Figueroa has been a member of the Stamford Board of Representatives in District 8 since 2001.

The Stamford Republican Town Committee endorsed Olga D. Anastos, whose family owns Curley's Diner.

Polling Places

According to the Stamford Registrars of Voters, all polls will open from 6 a.m., to 8 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 28.

No. 3 - K.T. Murphy School, 38 George St. (Entrance)
No. 5 - Stamford High School (Rear), 84 Hillandale Ave. (Entrance)
No. 6 - Saint Bridget’s School, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave.
No. 23 - Saint Bridget’s School, 278 Strawberry Hill Ave.
