149 To Become Naturalized Citizens in Stamford

Two ceremonies will be held Friday at the Ferguson Library.

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will present 149 candidates for citizenship to the U.S. District Court of Connecticut during two naturalization ceremonies in Stamford on Friday.

Senior United States District Judge Warren W. Eginton will administer the oath of allegiance to America’s newest citizens during two naturalization ceremonies at The Ferguson Library. The first at 11:30 a.m., the second at 2 p.m. Ferguson Library President Alice Knapp will make welcoming remarks. Each ceremony will feature 75 candidates for naturalization.

The 149 candidates come from the following 54 countries: Antigua-Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Cape Verde, Chile, People’s Republic of China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Czech Republic, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Germany, Ghana, Greece, Guatemala, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Hong Kong, India, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Kampuchea, Lebanon, Mexico, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, St. Lucia, Sudan, Thailand, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Venezuela and Vietnam.
