2 Bear Sightings Reported In Stamford: Police

Police remind Stamford residents not to "approach, feed or antagonize" the bears.

STAMFORD, CT — On Monday, police took to social media to inform residents of two reported bear sightings in Stamford. In a Facebook post, police said the first sighting was reported that morning, around 7:15 a.m., in the area of Heather Drive in the Hunting Ridge neighborhood.

A police sergeant then reported a second sighting on Opper Road near High Ridge Road, police said. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

"They have not shown to be aggressive towards people," police said on Facebook, "but please do not approach, feed or antagonize the bears."

Police also remind residents to keep their pets close by at all times and to secure all outside garbage.
