508 Unit Apartment Complex Rejected By Stamford Zoning Board: Report
The proposal called for the conversion of two, four-story office buildings into a large apartment complex, the Stamford Advocate reported.

STAMFORD, CT — The Stamford Zoning Board this week unanimously rejected a proposal that called for the conversion of two, four-story office buildings at 900 Long Ridge Road into a 500-plus unit apartment complex with commercial space, according to the Stamford Advocate.
The Advocate noted that Zoning Board members have been unimpressed with the proposal, which was put forward by developer Monday Properties.
The Monday Properties website says the property at 900 Long Ridge Road features a Class A office complex totaling 224,000 square feet. The two office buildings share a parking parage on the 36.5-acre site.

Zoning Board members have said they preferred townhouses or a less-dense housing option on the property, the Advocate reported.
Citing the board's resolution, the Advocate said "the project's design, density and sustainability fail to meet the standards necessary to receive a special permit."
