7 Stamford Teachers Named '2024 Fund for Teacher Fellows'

STAMFORD, CT — Seven Stamford Public Schools (SPS) staff members are the recipients of 2024 Fund for Teachers (FFT) Fellowships.
This year, grants were awarded to 365 public/private/charter school teachers from 36 states and the District of Columbia.

Fellows will be traveling throughout the United States and across the globe in order to meet their goals of better addressing the needs of their students by deepening their curricular understandings.
"This year’s SPS FFT Fellowship recipients are an inspiration for the entire district," said Superintendent of Stamford Public Schools Dr. Tamu Lucero in a news release. "FFT offers an opportunity for our staff members to immerse themselves in learning and culture. The program recognizes that innovative and creative approaches to teaching practice can change the lives of students and their families."

Stamford 2024 Fellows include:
- Amanda Yannet - Stamford High School
- Daniel Schiels - Cloonan Middle School - (Team Grant Recipient)
- Eric Keller - Stamford High School
- Jada Hansen - Westhill High School
- Karen Murano - Cloonan Middle School
- Lindsey Florio - Northeast Elementary
- Marianne Vakos - Roxbury Elementary

The 23rd cohort of grant recipients brings their total investment in teacher professional development up to nearly 10,000 Pre K - 12 teachers with $37 million since they started their philanthropic teacher mission 24 years ago.
