After Ramming a Car 3 Times, Driver Faces Assault, Drunk Driving Charges

Stamford Police say the driver left the scene of the crash as well, according to a report.

A Stamford man who’s accused of ramming the back of a car with his SUV three times is facing a variety of charges including drunk driving.

Edwin Lima-Ortega, 25, of George Street, was arrested after witnesses gave Stamford Police the license plate number of the LIncoln Navigator when it left the scene of the series of crashes on East Main Street around 11 p.m. Sunday, according to The Advocate.

Lima-Ortega was found at home after he hit a Ford Taurus three times, forcing it to crash into a pay phone near the McDonald’s restaurant, according to the newspaper report. He was charged with driving while under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, second-degree assault with a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs, following too closely and driving without a license.

The car driver was taken to Stamford Hospital for treatment.
