Body Found In Stamford Park; ID Released: Police

The body of a missing Stamford man was found late Monday afternoon. At this time, police said they're considering the death "suspicious."

STAMFORD, CT — The body of a missing Stamford man was found late Monday afternoon in Boccuzzi Park, the Stamford Police Department announced Tuesday. At this time, the department is considering the death "suspicious."

The man has been identified as Jaquan Tahir Saez, 21, a West Side resident, who was previously reported missing by his family, police said in a news release, noting that officers had been investigating Saez's disappearance at the time his body was found.

The grisly discovery was made on March 20 shortly before 5 p.m., when the Stamford Emergency Dispatch Center received a 911 call from a person who reported that there appeared to be a dead body in Boccuzzi Park, which is located at 200 Southfield Ave., in the Waterside section of the city.

First responders confirmed the report and closed off the park for a preliminary investigation.

The SPD is currently awaiting results from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Anyone with further information is asked to contact Sgt. Sean Boeger of the SPD's Major Crimes Unit at 203-977-4417.
