Dennis Surmaczewicz, 65, died May 2, 2026; an equipment operator for the City of Stamford for 33 years and Teamsters Union member, he enjoyed riding motorcycles, bowling, baseball and boating on Long Island Sound.
Christine Hanson Moseley, 74, died April 28, 2026; a Roxbury Nursery School teacher, she enjoyed gardening, baking, collecting beach treasures and spending time by the ocean in the Bahamas.
Cynthia (Cindy) Moon, 76, died April 28, 2026; a Cathedral High School graduate, she enjoyed music and dancing, and felt everyone deserved a beautifully set table, fresh flowers, and correctly prepared food.
Aida Marina Ortega, 90, died April 27, 2026; after emigrating from Ecuador, she worked for many years at Clairol and was known for her independence, including learning to drive at age 40.
Evelyn Aponte, 66, died April 26, 2026; she was known for her strong work ethic, keeping a welcoming home, watching horror movies and binge-watching television shows.
Marie C. Rich Capoli, 96, died April 24, 2026; a Baldwin Aviation employee for 30 years, she enjoyed sailing, skiing trips to Vermont, travel and Italian cooking.
Eugene “Gene/Gino” S. Buccino, 89, died April 23, 2026; a U.S. Army veteran who worked as a heavy equipment operator and foreman for Carlo Buccino & Sons and later as a mason for the Stamford Board of Education for 25 years, he enjoyed fly fishing, wood carving and vegetable gardening.
Anthony Frank Vitti, 88, died April 23, 2026; an Army veteran, carpenter and drummer who performed with the Count Basie Band, he also co-owned the General Putnam Inn in Norwalk and the Chicken Ranch in Danbury and enjoyed woodworking, cooking and art.
Mary Katherine Malvase “Kitty,” 76, died April 21, 2026; she worked for many years in the moving industry, including as a coordinator before retiring from Bollinger’s, and enjoyed 1960s and 1970s music, wind chimes and blue glass.
