At approximately 12:50 p.m. June 5, Connecticut State Police at Troop G received multiple 911 calls reporting that people participating in the funeral procession on I-95 southbound were hanging out of moving vehicles, according to preliminary information released by state police.
Troopers responded to the area and conducted a traffic stop of the lead vehicle in the procession, causing the entire procession to stop and prompting a brief shutdown of the highway, state police said.
The procession was then allowed to continue off I-95 to a cemetery in Stamford.
