STAMFORD, CT — A Stamford man who was arrested on June 1 after a six-week drug investigation was sentenced the following day to five years in jail on drug charges from 2024, according to police.
Several weeks ago, the Stamford Police Department Narcotics & Organized Crime Squad received information that Clark "CJ" Allen, 39, was going to Bridgeport to purchase drugs, Assistant Stamford Police Chief Richard Conklin said.
Upon his arrival back to Stamford, police arrested Allen near his Cove Road residence on a warrant that charged him with three counts of sale of narcotics, Conklin said. The warrant came with a $200,000 court-set bond.
A search of Allen found 13.5 grams of crack cocaine and 11 ecstasy pills, Conklin said, noting officers also found packaging materials and a scale.
Allen was additionally charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, and possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell. Those charges came with a bond of $50,000.
On June 2, Allen appeared in court to be sentenced on drug charges stemming from a 2024 arrest out of Stamford.
Allen pleaded guilty to possession of narcotics with intent to sell and possession of a hallucinogen with intent to sell, and was sentenced to five years in jail, the CT Judicial Branch website notes.
"It appears had [Allen] not been arrested [on June 1], he probably would have gotten probation on the prior cases," Conklin said.
Allen is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on June 15 for the latest charges.
