STAMFORD, CT — Two popular Stamford restaurants have been recognized for their wine program, joining over 4,000 dining destinations from all 50 states in the U.S. and more than 85 countries internationally as winners in Wine Spectator’s 2026 Restaurant Awards.
"The restaurant industry is rapidly transforming as diners become more selective about when, how and what they drink. As wine drinkers grow more mindful, restaurants are adapting with creative wine programs," said Wine Spectator Chairman and CEO Marvin R. Shanken, in a news release. "Congratulations to the 4,012 restaurants that earned a Restaurant Award and continue to elevate the wine experience for guests around the world. We raise a glass to your success."
The Stamford recipients are:
Launched in 1981, the Restaurant Awards recognize the highest standards in restaurant wine service across three levels: the Award of Excellence (2,083 recipients this year), the Best of Award of Excellence (1,830 recipients), and the Grand Award (99 recipients).
Wine lists that garner the Best of Award of Excellence "display excellent breadth across multiple winegrowing regions and/or significant vertical depth of top producers, along with superior presentation. Typically offering 350 or more selections, these restaurants are destinations for serious wine lovers, showing a deep commitment to wine, both in the cellar and through their service team."
Wine Spectator presented the Grand Award this year to two additional restaurants, recognizing their world-class wine programs and service: Caruso’s in Montecito, Calif., and Berria Wine Bar in Madrid, Spain.
Also featured in this year's Restaurant Awards issue is "In The Fast Lane," an inside look at Chef Andrew Carmellini's wine-centric restaurant empire that combines New York hospitality with deep Italian roots.
Wine Spectator’s special Restaurant Awards issue is available on newsstands on July 21.
