STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Downtown has launched Phase II of its Hello Lamp Post interactive artificial intelligence experience, expanding the program throughout downtown with additional signage, updated content and new community engagement features.
The initiative builds on the first phase of the program, which allows residents, workers, students and visitors to scan QR codes placed throughout downtown to access real-time information, ask questions, discover local businesses and events, and provide feedback about their experiences.
Phase II adds more signage locations throughout the district, updated conversational content, expanded information resources, and enhanced engagement opportunities focused on events, dining, development, parking, transportation and community programming, Stamford Downtown noted in a news release.
"Phase II allows us to continue expanding how Stamford Downtown communicates and interacts with the public in an engaging and accessible way," said Stamford Downtown President Michael Moore. "This technology helps connect people with Downtown resources, events, businesses, and public spaces while also giving Stamford Downtown valuable feedback and insight from the community."
Participants can use the platform to learn about Stamford Downtown events and activities, receive updates on construction and development projects, discover restaurants, shopping and attractions, share feedback about their downtown experiences, access information in multiple languages, and engage with Stamford Downtown through text-based AI conversations.
No app download or registration is required. Users can scan QR codes displayed on benches, planters, kiosks, brochure racks, bus shelters and other public infrastructure throughout the downtown area, as well as on the Stamford Downtown website, to begin interacting.
According to Stamford Downtown, Phase II also includes refined AI responses and updated information based on insights and community feedback gathered during the initial launch. The organization said it will continue evaluating interactions and enhancing the platform over time.
