Sylvia Beeghly Stunkel (Jake), 93, died July 13, 2026, and was a Stamford High School graduate who worked in clerical positions before retiring from Mohawk Kitchens, volunteered in local schools, as a Girl Scout leader and at First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed bowling, ceramics, shopping, traveling and visiting casinos.
David L. Eilets, 83, died July 9, 2026, and was a U.S. Army veteran who received the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal, worked for more than 20 years with the New York City Department of Sanitation and later for Darien Parks and Recreation, and enjoyed traveling and reading current events.
George B. Harvey, 95, died July 2, 2026, and was a Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania economics graduate, U.S. Army Korean War veteran and longtime chairman, president and CEO of Pitney Bowes who served on numerous corporate and nonprofit boards, volunteered as a Boy Scout scoutmaster, enjoyed cooking, fly-fishing and golf, and carried the Olympic torch during the 1996 Summer Olympic Torch Relay.
Patrick D. Sparagna, 58, died June 27, 2026, and enjoyed his family and work, grilling at New York Giants tailgates, gardening, and solving Wordle and Sudoku puzzles, and supporting numerous charities and volunteering to help others.
James Fernando Zurzola ("Jim"), 66, died June 26, 2026, and was a J.M. Wright Technical School graduate who worked as an electrician, had a passion for music, played the electric guitar, enjoyed sharing his knowledge of musicians, and spending time with his family.
Grace Ann Buzzeo, 86, died June 24, 2026, and attended Katherine Gibbs College before working as an executive secretary at GTE and Pitney Bowes, enjoying trips to the beach, annual vacations, and spending time with her family.
Angela M. D’Elia, 87, died June 20, 2026, and worked for many years in Stamford Public Schools cafeterias before operating D’Elia’s Deli in Stamford, and enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking, and volunteering with the San Manghese Women’s Auxiliary at Sacred Heart Church.
Anthony Salvatore "Snookie" Ciuffo, 83, died June 17, 2026, and owned and operated House of Anthony and Guy in Stamford for 47 years as a licensed hairdresser, and enjoyed golf, spending winters in Florida, and time with his family.
