"The Flotilla has brought our community together around a shared love for Long Island Sound for the past 10 years," SoundWaters President Leigh Shemitz said in a news release. "It’s inspiring to see so many people come to celebrate this incredible resource while helping ensure that students throughout our region have opportunities to learn about, explore and protect it."

The Flotilla has become one of SoundWaters' signature fundraising events, bringing together outdoor enthusiasts, families, community partners and local businesses in support of Long Island Sound education.

Since the event began, it has raised more than $300,000 to support the SoundWaters mission.
