Today marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks on 9/11.

The world was changed that day, as I'm sure most of you were. It is another "date that will live in infamy" as long as world history is recorded.

The Stamford History Center is recording the testimonials of Stamford citizens from all walks of life for a future archive, exhibit and perhaps theatrical documentary.

Perhaps you were a commuter, a medical professional, a housewife, a student. We have so far received a couple dozen testimonials… and counting. The stories are riveting. Here's a small excerpt from one:

"I was the executive aide to Mayor Dannel Malloy. As an early riser, I was in the office that morning when the planes hit. I called Dan, who arrived within five minutes…..

It was not unreasonable to assume that Stamford's UBS or the Metro North railroad might be the next targets. We asked them to evacuate and asked Metro North to order only incoming trains with as much security as they could handle……"

Executive Aide to Mayor Dannel Malloy on Sept. 11, 2001

We encourage you to join the effort to memorialize the first hand testimonies of Stamford citizens for all time. Send your 250-500 word testimonial by email toexec@stamfordhistory.org .

We look forward to hearing your account, and thank you for being a part of "9/11: Stamford Remembers."
