STAMFORD, CT — Here are the recent death notices from Stamford.

Peter P. Zezima Jr., 97, died Sept. 8, 2026, after serving in the Army in the early 1950s, owning and operating an electroplating business, participating in local politics and volunteering as treasurer of the National Little League at Scalzi Park.

Gerald G. Laber, 90, died Sept. 6, 2026. He served four years in the Navy aboard the USS Forrestal, worked as a meat cutter in Stamford, and enjoyed cheering for the New York Mets, New York Jets, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Patricia A. Ryan, 88, died Sept. 3, 2026, after working for New York Telephone, Woolworth's, SNET and Century 21, and she enjoyed volunteering, traveling, reading and bowling.

Amy Lione Hoyt, 71, died Sept. 3, 2026, after working as a hairstylist and volunteering in feline rescue, animal welfare and at the Darien Thrift Shop.

Robert J. "Bobby" Sabia Sr., 72, died Aug. 31, 2026. He worked for more than 30 years in Stamford's traffic division and enjoyed cars and building detailed model cars.

Anita F. Vacca, 96, died Aug. 25, 2026. She worked for Southern New England Telephone Company and Sears and served as a caregiver, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Ladies Auxiliary 579.

Joseph Thomas "Joe" "Joey B" Baccari, 78, died Aug. 23, 2026, after serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and working as a life insurance salesman, letter carrier, union president and school crossing guard, and he enjoyed baseball, the New York Yankees, the New York Rangers and visiting Stamford restaurants.
