39th Annual Arts & Fine Crafts Show at Historic Merwinsville Hotel

Art lovers are invited to the gala preview party for the Merwinsville Hotel's 39 th Annual Autumn Arts and
Fine Crafts Show, which will feature live music and a festive gathering catered by Hendricks Herb &
Table Oct. 9 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The gala preview party showcases the band Mama Train performing in the spirit of the Jazz Age with rich
female vocals and dynamic expressive piano. Inspired by early jazz and blues artists like Billie Holiday,
Annette Hanshaw, and Django Reinhardt, the classic songs they play range from the 1920s to the 1950s.
Catered hors d'oeuvres created by Lori Hendrick-Bechtold of Hendrick's Herb and Table will tempt
palates with a wide variety of offerings served, along with wine and dessert. Gala attendees will be the
first to be able to see and purchase artwork before the general public.
Tickets for the gala party are $30 in advance and $35 at the door; hotel members are $20 each.

The two-weekend Autumn Arts and Fine Crafts Show has been a long tradition in October. The dates of
the show are Oct. 10-12 and Oct. 16-18. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all days.
Over 80 local artists take advantage of the shows offered at the Hotel to sell their work and support the
ongoing restoration of the building. A portion of all sales benefit the Hotel, which is listed on the
National Register of Historic Places.
Those looking for gifts of original artwork by local artists will find a great variety of framed oil paintings,
watercolors and photography. The fall show also features the work of artisans in glass, jewelry,
woodwork, pottery, fiber arts, and more.
A $3 donation per person is requested; children under 10 are free. Individuals with a current
membership are admitted free, and those with a "sponsor" or higher membership will receive a one-
time 10% discount on their entire order.
The Merwinsville Hotel is located at 1 Brown's Forge Road in Gaylordsville, CT, only 15 minutes from
