STAMFORD, CT — Police said they seized approximately 250 grams of crystal meth and various other drugs and materials after a several-week investigation into a Stamford man who was staying at a local motel in addition to living at his apartment.
Ronald Buquet, 48, was charged with possession of narcotics; possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell; operation of a drug factory; and possession of a facsimile firearm.
The Stamford Police Narcotics and Organized Crime Unit received information that Buquet was in possession of drugs and staying at the Red Carpet Inn at 1209 E. Main St., Stamford Assistant Police Chief Richard Conklin said, noting officers obtained search warrants for Buquet's person and his motel room.
On Oct. 1 at around 7 p.m., officers executed the search warrant after Buquet left his Cove Road apartment.
Buquet had approximately 50 grams of meth, along with several bags of fentanyl and controlled pills, Conklin said.
Buquet gave officers consent to search his residence, where a little over 173 grams of meth was located with packaging materials, according to police.
"This is over a quarter kilo of crystal meth that was seized in all the different bags, which is a very substantial amount," Conklin noted.
Buquet posted a $100,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 15. The CT Judicial Branch website shows Buquet has several pending criminal cases in Stamford.
