Annual Ekal Concert

On May 11th, Stamford's Marriott Hotel will be pulsating to the beats of exotic Indian tunes from 5:00 PM onwards.

Enjoy the beautiful performance of Dipayan who has also performed in reality show 'SUR SANGRAM', and Zee Bangla SaReGaMaPa, and has also worked with notable music directors along with Madhura Bhattacharya who has done playbacks for over 75 TV Serials, And 65 Released Films. Every year, the Connecticut Indian community gets together to organize EKAL Charity Fundraiser in Stamford. EKAL volunteers strives to increase education levels in the rural villages of India. Due to the lack of accessible public government schools and pressing agricultural labor needs, the village children had very limited schooling options.

The EKAL Connecticut chapter started 10 years ago and have around 50 plus volunteer families and multiple local organizations supporting the initiative. EKAL Connecticut chapter currently supports around 475 schools.

Cost of running EKAL school is $365 / year or dollar a day. You can be a part of the world’s largest education movement by Donating at EKAL.org. Make a difference and impact the education EKAL provides to these villages. EKAL works on concept “If a poor child cannot go to school, school must go to the child”. Currently EKAL has more than 2 million kids enrolled in 81,500 schools across India and Nepal.

Today, you can single handedly change the life of 30 children in need, by donating for just one school. One school means $365 dollars, that is, a dollar a day. Activities: Standup Comedy, Gourmet Indian Dinner, Concert, Kids Club activities. This year we have added a Standup Comedy Show during the course of the dinner between 5PM and 7PM by Dr Bhupesh Vasisht, a Plastic Surgeon who has performed with Adam Sandler, Ray Romano during his college days. So please arrive on time.
