Arrest Made In 'Suspicious' Stamford Death: Police
A 36-year-old woman was found dead Tuesday on Stamford's West Side.

STAMFORD, CT — A 42-year-old Stamford man has been arrested in connection with the "suspicious" death of a 36-year-old woman Tuesday, according to Stamford police.
Hector Lopez was arrested and charged with allegedly withholding medical treatment from the victim. Her identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The woman died within the Southwood Square apartment complex, but additional details have not been disclosed. Patch has reached out to Stamford Police Lt. Thomas Scanlon for more information but has not received a reply.

"The death is suspicious and is under investigation by the Stamford Police Major Crimes Unit," wrote police on the department's Facebook page Wednesday. "The State Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is conducting an autopsy this morning."
Lopez is currently in the custody of the Stamford Police Department; his bail was $250,000. Information on whether he may face additional charges was not immediately available.

He was arraigned in Stamford Superior Court on Wednesday, according to News 12's Marissa Alter. Tuesday's arrest is not the first time Lopez has faced charges.

The Stamford Advocate, referring to him as Hector Collazo-Lopez, writes that he was arrested in October 2016 in connection with a domestic violence incident in which he allegedly punched his sister and tore her clothing during an argument.
Stamford police officials are urging anyone with information related to Tuesday's incident - or who has had any recent contact with Hector Lopez - to contact Sgt. Christopher Broems at 203-977-4420.
