Popular Furniture Chain Opens Location In Stamford

The store employs approximately 15 people. A grand opening celebration will be held on Dec. 16.

STAMFORD, CT — Ashley, the No. 1 selling furniture store brand in the world, has opened up a location in Stamford at 2113 Summer St.

The company will hold a grand opening celebration at the new 19,687 square-foot showroom on Dec. 16. The store employs approximately 15 people.

"We are proud to serve the Stamford community by providing career opportunities and giving residents the chance to shop closer to home for years to come," said Ashley Chief Revenue OfficerJustin Chrinian in a news release.

As part of the grand opening ceremony and the company's commitment to giving back to the community, Ashley has partnered with Inspirica, a Stamford-based organization that aims to end homelessness and housing insecurity by helping individuals and family achieve stability through support services and affordable housing.

Ashley will provide up to 30 youth mattresses to children in need through the company's Hope to Dream program where Ashley stores donate a portion of all mattress sales. This provides deserving children with a twin mattress, bed frame, bedding and pillow.

The Ashley showroom features complete lifestyle vignettes, down to the final detail of lighting, rugs and wall art. Product categories include bedroom, dining room, upholstery, leather, occasional tables, home office, youth bedroom, recliners, mattresses and accessories. The showroom also features technology to improve the guest shopping experience.

This is Ashley's seventh Connecticut location, with the closest to Stamford in Norwalk. There are more than 1,050 stores across the globe. The company was originally founded by Carlyle Weinberger in Chicago, Ill., in 1945, according to the Ashley website.

Ashley hours in Stamford are Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
