B1C supports DACA recipients following U.S. Supreme Court Rule

Building One Community supports DACA recipients following U.S. Supreme Court Rule

Stamford, Connecticut - Building One Community (B1C) welcomes the United States Supreme Court’s decision today regarding DACA. Many DACA recipients work on the frontlines of the United States’ COVID-19 response and are essential workers to our country’s wellbeing. Today’s decision allows 4,000 DACA recipients in Connecticut and nearly 700,000 DACA recipients throughout the United States to live without fear, support themselves and their families, and make their adopted country a better place for all of us. The Supreme Court found that the Department of Homeland Security violated the Administrative Procedures Act and did not properly consider the impact ending DACA would have, meaning the administration would have to go back to the initial starting point to end DACA. It is unlikely, but possible they will be able to do that by January 2021. The Court’s decision reaffirms the need for Congress to enact a permanent, comprehensive immigration reform that gives DACA recipients and all DREAMers a path to a green card.
