Bear Sighting Reported In Stamford: Police
Police said some residents reported seeing the animal in the early morning hours, however no bear was ultimately found by officers.

STAMFORD, CT — Police said some residents reported seeing a bear in the North Stamford area of the city early Tuesday morning, however officers ultimately did not locate the animal. According to Sgt. Robert Shawinsky, the reports came in sometime during the department's "midnight shift."

According to the Stamford Advocate, the first report of a bear sighting came in around 6:30 a.m. from a Dannell Drive residence. Another call came in from Vine Road about 12 minutes later.
