Introducing Rowena Track

(Rowena Track )

BOYS & GIRLS CLUB OF STAMFORD NAMES ROWENA TRACK AS NEW CEO

STAMFORD, CT, March 12, 2020 – Boys & Girls Club of Stamford (BGCS) announced today that the Board of Directors has unanimously named Rowena Track as the next Chief Executive Officer, effective March 23, 2020. BGCS conducted its search process with the assistance of Boys & Girl Clubs of America’s CEO Search Team.

The search was conducted over several months by a search committee led by BGCS Board member and past-chair Neil Frieser. Several Club employees and community partners were engaged to provide input. The search garnered many candidates with diverse backgrounds and excellent qualifications for the role. All the candidates that the search committee considered had exceptional executive experience and a direct connection to our mission and/or youth development.

Ms. Track is a senior level executive with a proven track record of success and over 30 years of experience across a wide variety of disciplines and industries. She is a self-made businesswoman who immigrated to this country from Beirut, Lebanon, seeking safety, peace and a better way of life. Ms. Track has worked at several prestigious institutions during her career, including Cigna Corporation, Bayer Healthcare and Yale University. She serves on the Board of Governors of the University of New Haven, and previously served on the board of Child Care Resources in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rowena said that BGCS is actually a dream opportunity, “I have been blessed throughout my life and career to have the support of mentors, coaches, family and community, and this is an amazing opportunity for me to give back and hopefully help not only the next generation of youth succeed, but also ensure that Stamford is seen as a model community and location for growth.”

Andrew Zeitlin said, “As President of the Board of Directors for the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, I welcome Rowena to our family of staff, donors, community partners, and most of all, the kids and parents we serve. When you meet Rowena, I know you’ll recognize her passion, expertise, and vision.”

Neil Frieser said, “As past-Chair of BGCS and Chair of the Search Committee, I couldn’t be happier with the appointment of Rowena to the position of CEO. We are about to move into a tremendous growth stage with the opening of the Gary Wendt Teen Center and we are confident that Rowena will step right in and continue the Club’s great legacy.”
