STAMFORD, CT — Bubbakoo's Burritos, a popular fast-casual Mexican fusion chain restaurant, will open up a new location in Stamford on June 28.

Situated within the shopping plaza at 800 E. Main St., the new Stamford outpost represents the third Connecticut location for the brand. Perry and Fenil Patel recently opened up a storefront in Norwalk, and they also own a location in Orange.

According to Bubbakoo's website, another CT location is planned for Oxford.

Bubbakoo's notes that opening up a franchise location starts at $35,000, and a typical location is 2,000 square feet with a minimum of 25 square feet of store frontage. Franchise locations work best in strip/shopping mall-type settings, the company says.

"It is fantastic to have the opportunity to open our [third] Bubbakoo’s location. I’m confident this will be another welcome addition to the community,” said Perry Patel in a news release. "It’s exciting to see just how quickly the Bubbakoo’s brand has scaled in the last few years, and it feels great to be part of a brand with so much growth on the horizon. My team and I look forward to not only providing Stamford with our amazing Mexican fusion menu, but creating new job opportunities within the community as well."

Bubbakoo's offers menu items not traditionally found at a typical Mexican eatery, such as hibachi steak and shrimp burritos, sriracha shredded pork nachos, Nashville hot chicken burritos, and customizable entrees.

Guests can customize quesadillas, tostada salads, tacos, burritos, nachos or bowls with a variety of proteins and vegetarian options, and sauces ranging from general tso's to ghost pepper.

There's also a variety of hand-tossed bone-in and boneless wings, and cauliflower bites. Bubbakoo's can cater parties or events, too.

Bubbakoo's Burritos was originally founded in Point Pleasant, N.J., in 2008 by Paul Altero and Bill Hart. There are now over 100 locations across 16 different states.

Hart said the company is "extremely proud" to open up its third Connecticut location.

"We’ve been able to drive tangible unit growth over the last several months, and this kind of achievement would not be possible without the dedication and enthusiasm from our franchisees. I’m excited to see Perry and Fenil open their [third] Bubbakoo’s location as we continue expanding our robust footprint throughout the East Coast," he added in a news release.

The company entered this year at No. 238 on Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list, rising nearly 100 places from 2022. This marks the brand’s highest-ever ranking for the award and its third consecutive year being named.

The Samford location will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Guests can order for delivery or pick-up online.
