Burlington Opens New Stamford Store

There are now 15 stores across CT. The company said in a news release more than 1,020 locations were open nationwide at the end of Q1 2024.

STAMFORD, CT — Burlington, the national off-price department store retailer, has opened a new store in Stamford, officially relocating from its previous longtime location of 74 Broad St.

The new 31,855 square-foot store is at the Ridgeway Shopping Center, 2135-2715 Summer St., inside the former space of Bed Bath & Beyond. The Broad Street store closed at the end of June.

There are now 15 stores across Connecticut, and the company said in a news release more than 1,020 locations were open nationwide at the end of Q1 2024.

"Our goal is to continue to offer area residents low prices on brand name merchandise for the entire family and home," said Burlington Stores CEO Michael O’Sullivan, in a news release. "We’re continuing to expand our footprint across the country and are excited to be opening a new store in Stamford. We look forward to giving local customers the chance to discover big savings on a wide range of products."

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held last week at the new Stamford store where officials presented a donation of $5,000 to the teachers at Hart Magnet Elementary School.

The money came through Burlington's long-standing partnership with the national non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org.

Funds will be used to provide students with classroom materials.
