1,500 Runners and 60+ Companies Expected at Stamford Corporate 5K at Mill River Park on May 14

The annual Stamford Boys & Girls Club Corporate 5K will return to Mill River Park on Thursday evening, May 14, bringing together an expected 1,500 runners and walkers from more than 60 companies for one of Stamford’s signature community fundraising events.
The flat 5K course starts and finishes at Mill River Park and is designed to be accessible for competitive runners, casual walkers, corporate teams, individuals, and families. Following the race, participants are invited to enjoy refreshments, food trucks, and an evening of connection with colleagues and community members.
Proceeds from the event benefit Boys & Girls Club of Stamford, which provides safe, affordable, high-quality after-school and summer programming for more than 550 children and teens each day.
“This race is a powerful reminder of what makes Stamford special,” said Craig Baker, Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Club of Stamford. “Hundreds of people from across our business community come together not just for a fun night in Mill River Park, but to stand behind the young people who need opportunity, belonging, and support after the school day ends. Every registration, sponsorship, and donation helps us keep the Club affordable and accessible for the kids and families who count on us.”
More than 60 corporations have already formed teams, ranging from three members to more than 70 runners. Awards will be presented to the top three team and individual corporate finishers in the following categories: Overall Team, Men’s Open, Men’s Masters, Women’s Open, and Women’s Masters.
Boys & Girls Club of Stamford serves many of the city’s most historically underserved young people. Ninety-five percent of Club youth are children and teens of color, 99% come from households earning less than the Connecticut Survival Budget, half come from single-parent households, and half are English Language Learners. Through programs focused on education, workforce readiness, athletics and well-being, and character and leadership, the Club helps young people feel safe, seen, and supported while building the skills and confidence to thrive.
The event is expected to raise over $100,000 for Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.
Major sponsors include Synchrony, ASML, and CCI. The event is also supported by Eagle Point Credit Company, Gerald Group, Hudson Structured Capital Management Ltd., ICON International, Inc., NBC Universal, NatWest Markets, The Richard and Barbara Whitcomb Foundation, Rollease Acmeda Inc., State Street Global Advisors, WWE, Aircastle Advisor, LLC, CPG Architects & Planners, Deloitte, Diserio Martin, Genworth, Henkel, EY, First County Bank, GenRe, K L Masters Construction Company, Penoles, Troutman Pepper Locke, Valitana, WorldQuant, Athletic Brewing Company, Hey Stamford, Bluefrog Plumbing, LesserEvil, Mill River Park Collaborative, and Whalers Brewing Company.
