Celebrate Earth Day With Mayor Simmons On April 21

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons will participate in several Earth Day events on April 21 around the city. Stamford will also unveil its five-year parks strategic plan.

Friday's events are as follows

• Morning stroll with the mayor, 8:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., Cove Island Park, 1241 Cove Road
• Tree and seed planting, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., Carwin Park, Spruce Street
• Books Across Stamford Book Giveaway by SPEF and Read-a-Aloud with the mayor, Drotar Park, 1197 Hope St.
• Park clean-up and mayor's remarks, 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
