Company Moves Headquarters Out Of Stamford
The company has chosen to consolidate the unit at a new company headquarters for medical device and IT groups in Massachusetts.
STAMFORD, CT — Fujiflm Medical Systems officials said the company has moved the headquarters for its medical device subsidiary out of Stamford, according to the Stamford Advocate. The company has chosen to consolidate the unit at a new Massachusetts headquarters.
The company had facilities both on West Avenue and in the River Bend Center office park, which managed U.S. marketing of imaging systems for medical clinics and hospitals, the Stamford Advocate reports.
Arthur Augustyn, a Spokesperson for the city of Stamford, said in an email to Patch that the city is proud of the relationship it built with Fujifilm over the many years the company operated in Stamford.

"Business operation consolidations are common in today's market and not representative of the relationship a business has with a municipality," Augustyn said in a statement. "To the contrary, Fujifilm notified Stamford of their intent to consolidate ahead of time and reaffirmed their satisfaction with working with Stamford as a partner. The city wishes Fujifilm and its employees well in their future endeavors."
According to a written statement from the company, Fujifilm announced Wednesday the opening of a new headquarters in Lexington, Mass., which will allow the company's various healthcare groups to be headquartered in a single location for the first time.

"Placing our healthcare resources under one roof was a strategic move to foster close collaboration across various business units and enable us to improve the customer experience," CEO Takaaki Ueda said in a statement. "This kind of collaboration is what spurs innovation and fuels our efforts to bring unparalleled new technologies to market and address pressing clinical and business needs while raising the standard of care and improving patient outcomes."
The statement also indicated FUJIFILM Medical Systems U.S.A., Inc. no longer has offices in Stamford as of April 2019. The company still holds satellite offices in New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Wisconsin.
