Coronavirus Stamford: Public Schools Closed Through April 10
The district has announced that schools are now scheduled to reopen no sooner than April 13.

STAMFORD, CT — Stamford Public Schools announced late Monday that schools will now be closed until at least Monday, April 13, as the state, and the nation, continues to grapple with the new coronavirus. The announcement comes days after Gov. Ned Lamont ordered all public schools to close until at least March 31 to mitigate the spread of the virus, also referred to as the COVID-19 virus.
In an announcement, district officials noted that every school day up to and including April 3 will be a distance learning school day. April 6 through 10 are spring break days. (To sign up for Stamford breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

In an effort to provide support to students during this transition, the district has created a quick link on the home page of the district website, under Resources During Closure, where families can access educational, social and emotional resources.
COVID-19 is caused by a member of the coronavirus family that's a close cousin to the SARS and MERS viruses that have caused outbreaks in the past.
