Dates Announced For Leaf Pickup In Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — The city of Stamford has announced the start date for this year's leaf collection program.

According to Mayor Caroline Simmons, leaf pickup season begins on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The city will continue to permit residents to place their loose leaves curbside.

  • North (above the Merritt Parkway) - Nov. 12
  • Middle (Merritt Parkway to I-95) - Nov. 19
  • South (south of I-95) - Dec. 3

Loose leaves should not be on the road or blocking the sidewalk, as this may result in removal costs and fines, Simmons said.

If residents choose to bag their leaves, bags may be placed on the road by the curb, provided they do not block sight lines or interfere with traffic.
