Details Announced For Stamford's Veterans Day Parade & Ceremony

The parade will begin at the Stamford Police Department and proceed to Veterans Memorial Park where a ceremony will take place.

STAMFORD, CT —The Stamford Patriotic & Special Events Commission (PSEC) has announced details for Stamford's Veterans Day parade and ceremony, which will take place on Nov. 5.

The parade will step-off at 12 p.m., from the Stamford Police Department and go along Bedford Street and Atlantic Street to Veterans Memorial Park at 130 Atlantic St. The parade will feature local veterans groups, marching bands from Stamford Public Schools, community organizations, and more. A ceremony will immediately follow the parade.

Maj. Gen. Thomas R. Bouchard (U.S. Army Ret.) has been named Grand Marshal. Bouchard has completed over 39 years of service in both the active and reserve Components of the US Army. His most recent assignment was the special assistant to the director of the National Guard.

Bouchard has been deployed numerous times during his career, including operations in Haiti, Kuwait, Kosovo, Iraq and Afghanistan. He and his family have called Stamford their home since 2006.

In his civilian career, Bouchard is a senior portfolio manager for DWS Investments in New York City.

During the ceremony, the Stamford Veterans Park Partnership will unveil the permanent installation of storyboards in Veterans Memorial Park. The boards are a historic retrospective that will depict events from the foundation of the city of Stamford through today.

This is the first installation of its kind highlighting events and contributions by the citizens of Stamford to the formation and growth of the Stamford community, state of Connecticut, the country, and the world.

The parade and ceremony will be live-streamed online.
