Details Released On Fire That Destroyed 2 Stamford EMS Vehicles

The fire occurred at the Long Ridge Road EMS facility on March 2.

STAMFORD, CT — The fire that destroyed two Stamford EMS reserve ambulances on Saturday evening, March 2, remains under investigation, according to EMS officials. No injuries were reported.

The two vehicles were parked next to each other in the lot at the Stamford EMS headquarters on Long Ridge Road, and a preliminary cause appears to be a mechanical malfunction in one of the ambulances.

"This unfortunate event has not affected Stamford EMS service to the community," officials stated. "Stamford EMS continues to operate around the clock with five ambulances out of its stations located throughout the City of Stamford.
