STAMFORD, CT — Newfield Avenue between Weed Hill Avenue and Intervale Road will be closed to all traffic until later Wedneaday evening, according to Stamford Public Safety.

Motorists are being asked to avoid the area. The closure was announced shortly after 6 p.m.

Strong winds and heavy rain are expected to impact the region Wednesday into Thursday.
