Dr. Anthony V. Plomitallo, 70; Stamford Chiropractor

Calling hours will be held Friday, Aug. 15 with a memorial service scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 16.

Dr. Anthony V. Plomitallo, of Stamford, died unexpectedly on Aug. 11, 2014 at Stamford Hospital.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, on Sept. 11, 1943, son of the late Vincent and Anne Plomitallo, he was the beloved husband of Chris (Judith) Plomitallo.

He is a graduate of Stamford Catholic High School, St. Michael’s College and received a doctor of Chiropractic degree from the Chiropractic Institute of New York. Dr. Plomitallo practiced in Stamford for more than 40 years. His profession and passion in life was as a caregiver and healer.

He was a member of the Lions Club of Stamford, supporter of Youth Athletics, had a lifelong interest in American Flyer trains, he was active at the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford and enjoyed spending time with his grandbabies. He had a kindness and a compassion that made him well loved by everyone who knew him. He is loved and adored by his family.

In addition to his wife, Tony is survived by four children: Geralyn Plomitallo, Deborah Melkonian (Dorian), Karen Gonillo (Josh), and Douglas Plomitallo (Alice); four grandchildren: Zachary Plomitallo, Kate Melkonian, Wesley Melkonian and Gianna Gonillo, and his sister Barbara Robertson (Scotty).

A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 at Shippan’s Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford, (same building as Bosak). A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16 at the First Presbyterian Church in Stamford.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford, CT, 1101 Bedford St. or the Connecticut Humane Society, 455 Post Road East, Westport, CT, in celebration of Tony’s life.
