Drivers Cited in Stamford Police DUI Checkpoint

The checkpoint was held on Washington Boulevard over the weekend.

The Stamford Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on northbound Washington Boulevard just north of Second Street late Friday night into Saturday morning.

Police say they were encouraged to see the number of designated drivers, taxis and Uber drivers that were out over the weekend.

Despite that, police still made several arrests. They also issued five infractions tickets for various moving violations and three tickets for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
