Evelyn A. Maziarek, 89; Stamford Resident Who Worked for the Family Woodworking Business; Enjoyed Traveling

Evelyn A. (Walker) Maziarek, 89, longtime resident of the Cove section of Stamford, CT, passed away in the early hours of Tuesday, March 31, 2015.

She was born in Bridgeport, CT on October 3, 1925 to the late Ernest and Maria (Howe) Walker.

Evelyn is survived by her beloved husband of 64 years, Charles “Whitey” Maziarek, her two daughters; Lorena Houseworth and her husband Christopher and Mary Cavalieri and her husband Ralph, and her three precious grandchildren; Michael, Christopher and Michelle Cavalieri. She is also survived by two brothers; Robert and Alfred Walker.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brother, Rodney Walker, and her dear aunt, Hazel B. White.

In addition to caring for her husband and daughters, Evelyn worked for the Darien Dinner Theater and at Clairol for a time, and helped with her husband’s family woodworking business - Maziarek Woodworking. Evelyn and Whitey enjoyed their frequent trips to the casino at Mohegan Sun, and their many travels across the United States in their Winnebago, visiting family, meeting new people, seeing the country and enjoying special time together while on the road. Evelyn was also a veracious reader who loved her books, especially murder mystery novels. Above all else, Evelyn loved her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

Friends and relatives may offer their sympathy and condolences on the morning of Saturday, April 4, 2015 from 9am to 10am at Bosak Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Avenue, in Stamford. A prayer service offered by Monsignor Peter Dora will take place at the funeral home at 10:15am. A procession will leave the funeral home immediately after the service for the interment and committal service at St. John R.C. Cemetery in Darien.
