Extensive Remodeling Planned For Popular Stamford Supermarket
The remodeling process is expected to last about three months, according to the company.
STAMFORD, CT — The Cingari Family ShopRite in Shippan will soon have a new look.
The family-owned and operated CT-based company announced on Tuesday plans to renovate the supermarket at 200 Shippan Ave. The store will remain open and accessible during the remodeling process which is expected to be completed in November.
"We’re giving all our stores a contemporary look and feel that also includes providing new amenities, and expanded offerings," said Tom Cingari, president and CEO of Cingari Family ShopRite, in an announcement Tuesday. "We’ve been listening to what our customers tell us they want to see in a shopping experience and incorporating those wishes into our floorplans. And the good news is, we’ll carry out this renovation with the least disruption possible, so customers are ensured the same quality of service they expect from us."

Along with fresh cosmetic changes like updated lighting, store decor and eco-friendly display cases, the remodel will bring customers convenient new features such as a brand new seafood department, updated meat and produce departments, a new and expansive prepared foods and deli section, a new bakery department, a new sushi counter and a colorful floral department.
The new bakery department will offer fresh-baked bread, cakes, pastries, and other baked goods. The sushi department will offer a variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes.

Updated lighting and decor will provide a fresh, modern look and feel. The floral department will feature a large assortment of fresh flowers and arrangements.
"Our customers keep coming back for our high-quality items, top-notch customer care, and unrivaled sales," said Christian Silva, Shippan store manager, in a news release. "Our new store features and renovations will reinforce our ranking as Stamford’s No. 1 best place to grocery shop."
There are 12 Cingari Family ShopRites throughout southwestern Connecticut, with locations in Bristol, Brookfield, Danbury, Derby, Fairfield, Norwalk, Shelton, Southbury, and four locations in Stamford.
