Stamford High School went on lockdown following a false alarm Friday morning.
STAMFORD, CT — Stamford High School went on lockdown following a false alarm Friday morning.
A new staff member reported to the Stamford Police Department that they saw someone with a gun in the school's south parking lot, city officials posted on Twitter Friday morning.
"The individual in the parking lot was quickly identified as a Stamford High School Resource Officer who was reporting to work," officials tweeted.

"We recognize that this incident created concern among families and in our school community. Stamford Public Schools staff are trained to be vigilant about safety, and their vigilance is understandable. We apologize for any alarm or inconvenience that resulted from this incident," city officials posted in a follow-up tweet.
