Family Centers Acquires New Building In Stamford

STAMFORD, CT — To accommodate its continued growth, Family Centers has announced the purchase of a building at 986 Bedford St. in Stamford.

Family Centers is a private, nonprofit organization offering health, education and human service programs to children, adults and families in Fairfield County.

Located in the heart of downtown and convenient to public transportation, Family Centers says the new location will make its services more accessible for those who need them. A grand opening is expected in fall 2024.

The 18,600 square foot building is more than twice the size of Family Centers’ current offices at 60 Palmer’s Hill Road, and will house a large portion of its human service, education and mental health programs, according to Family Centers.

Group meeting space will also be available for enhanced literacy education, job readiness support, group therapy and parenting education services.

"Over the past 10 years, Family Centers has greatly expanded its holistic network of services to keep pace with our community’s growing needs," said CEO Bob Arnold in a news release. "Having a home base in downtown allows us to offer a wide array of health, education and human service programs under one roof and improve the overall experience for Stamford’s residents."

In recent years, Family Centers says it has doubled its clinical staff to tackle the ongoing mental health crisis, expanded school-based medical and mental health services, and enhanced programs in maternal education, parental support, English-language instruction and vocational coaching.
