FEMA To Close Hurricane Ida Recovery Center In Stamford Dec. 17

STAMFORD, CT — The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will close its Disaster Recovery Center in Stamford on Dec. 17, according to an announcement from the city of Stamford.

The center opened up on Dec. 7 at the Harry Bennett branch of the Ferguson Library at 115 Vine Road in response to September's storm that brought widespread flooding and damage to the region. The plan was for the center to be open until approximately Dec. 29, or as demand warranted.

The center will be operating for two more days to assist Hurricane Ida Victims. They will be open Dec. 16 and Dec. 17 from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Representatives from FEMA and the U.S. Small Business Administration will be available at the center to help residents apply for disaster assistance, explain disaster assistance programs, answer questions about FEMA letters and the appeals process, and provide literature about repairs and rebuilding to make homes more disaster resistant.
