Final Phase Of Dredging Underway At Stamford's Cove Island Park Marina
Mayor Caroline Simmons recently issued an update on the dredging project.
STAMFORD, CT — The final phase of dredging at Cove Island Park Marina is underway, according to an update from Mayor Caroline Simmons.
"This is an investment that not only impacts the boating community but also enhances our park and improves water quality," Simmons said in a recent Facebook post. "The dredging should be completed by February 2025 and following the completion, all new docks and piles will be installed in preparation for boating season."
In 2014, Stamford received funding through the Small Harbor Improvement Projects program (SHIPP) grant, which the city’s engineering bureau used to hire Coastline Consulting & Development LLC, to do the permitting, design and construction administration to dredge the Cove Island Park Marina and channel.
