Fire Breaks Out In Stamford Hotel Room: Fire Department

The Stamford Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the cause and origin of the fire, the Stamford Fire Department said.

STAMFORD, CT — A fire broke out at the Red Carpet Inn on the East Side of Stamford on Monday morning, according to the Stamford Fire Department.

The blaze was "quickly extinguished," and no injuries were reported to firefighters, the SFD said.

At 9 a.m., the SFD responded to multiple 911 calls reporting a fire at the Red Carpet Inn on East Main Street.

Engine 6 from the Glenbrook Fire Station arrived within minutes and reported a "working fire" coming from a first-floor hotel room at the rear of the building, the SFD said.

The fire was doused with one hose line and placed under control within 20 minutes. The room was found to be unoccupied after a search, the SFD said. Fire, smoke, and water damage was confined to the room of origin.

A total of four engine companies, two truck companies, a heavy rescue company, and the shift commander responded to the scene — a total of 30 career personnel.

On-scene assistance was provided by Stamford EMS and the Stamford Police Department.
