STAMFORD, CT — A fire in the kitchen break room of a dental office on Hoyt Street caused some damage to the kitchen and two adjoining examination rooms early Friday afternoon, but firefighters quickly brought the situation under control.

The fire was reported at 1:21 p.m. in the building at 36 Hoyt Street. Upon arrival, firefighters saw smoke showing from the rear of the building on the first floor, and quickly extinguished the fire in the kitchen. Smoke was ventilated through the second floor and attic space, and the fire was declared under control within 20 minutes, according to Capt. Philip Hayes.

No injuries were reported. The Stamford Fire Marshal's office is investigating the cause of the fire, Hayes said.
