Man Accused Of Setting Fire To House After Argument: Stamford Police
Police and the Stamford Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the cause and origin of the fire.

STAMFORD, CT — A 30-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and accused of setting a fire to a home on the East Side of Stamford after getting into an argument with a resident, according to police.
Dylan Marshall was charged with reckless endangerment, second-degree arson and criminal mischief, Lt. Doug Dieso said. Marshall was given a bond of $1.5 million.
At 5:18 p.m. on July 30, Stamford firefighters were dispatched to a report of a structure fire at in the 40 block of Hearthstone Court in the Cove neighborhood, fire officials said in a news release.

Firefighters located and began to extinguish the fire that appeared to have started in a rear bathroom while other firefighters ventilated windows and doors, fire officials said.

The occupants in the home evacuated on their own prior to the first responders arriving, the SFD noted. The fire was placed under control in less than 10 minutes, and no injuries were reported.
Dieso said a resident had alerted dispatch about having a dispute with a man over a cell phone, and the man was later identified as Marshall.
"During the argument… Marshall made a comment he was going to set the house on fire," Dieso said. "The victim then responded... to find the house was in flames. We got there, and based upon this information relayed to us, Marshall was taken into custody."
Stamford police are working with the Stamford Fire Marshal's office to identify the origin and cause of the fire.
"That's still under investigation, and that will take a while," Dieso said, noting that the house is uninhabitable.
Marshall is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 27.
