From First United Methodist Church:First United Methodist Church hosted 30 parents and children at Building One Community – The Center for Immigrant Opportunity (B1C) on Saturday, November 17, for ‘Afternoon at the Movies’. The church provided snacks and refreshments for moviegoers who enjoyed the family-friendly film, Paddington 2.

‘Afternoon at the Movies’ is a series of movie screenings for immigrant families that takes place throughout the fall and winter at Building One Community. These events encourage volunteers and sponsors to engage with the immigrant community in the local area. Building One Community aims to bring passionate people together to help immigrants and their families succeed in the community.

Associate Pastor Kaiyra Greer said, “The way [B1C’s] programs are professionally and organically organized make them accessible to the constituents. The youth group of First Stamford partnered for the second time for this event. We had so much fun last time, we wanted to visit again. The people of First Stamford have a passion to serve and appreciate the connection to the community that B1C offers. We are always humbled by these opportunities.”
