STAMFORD, CT — The First Congregational Church of Stamford is scheduled to host a free concert by Blues & Beyond on Saturday, March 21, at 6 p.m.

According to an announcement, the performance will be led by Creative Director Eric Finland, a classical and jazz pianist who holds a bachelor's degree in music performance from Berklee College of Music.

The concert is designed as a musical exploration of African American history, tracing its development through song. The concert examines the evolution of music from early field hollers and camp meetings to spirituals, the blues, and the roots of contemporary popular music.
