Garbage Truck Crash Closes Road In Stamford: PD

Police said the road is now open.

STAMFORD, CT — Police said on Twitter that High Ridge Road was closed for a couple hours Thursday morning between Scofieldtown Road and Interlaken Road due to a motor vehicle accident.

According to the Stamford Advocate, police said a garbage truck rolled over on the road at 8:15 a.m. and spilled some of its contents. Power crews subsequently worked to clean up downed power lines from the crash, and police announced just before noon the road had reopened.
