Gofer Ice Cream Opens New Location In Stamford
This is the franchise's second Stamford location and ninth overall in Connecticut.

STAMFORD, CT — Gofer Ice Cream, the popular local ice cream chain that's been serving Fairfield County for 20 years, has officially opened its second location in Stamford and ninth overall.
The new Stamford outpost is located in the Ridgeway Shopping Center, 2367 Summer St. The opening coincides with the company's 20th anniversary; the first Gofer Ice Cream opened in Greenwich on Memorial Day Weekend in 2003.
"The newest Gofer location will continue to grow our Fairfield County footprint. As we add this Stamford location and other planned shops, Gofer Ice Cream will become even more ingrained in the community and soon be conveniently available to the nearly one million Fairfield County customers both in store and online via third party delivery," said Gofer Ice Cream CEO Jay Ragusa, in a news release. "Our goal is to offer great products for everybody in the family and ultimately be able to serve them close to home or work through a growing network of shops."

Ragusa said the Ridgeway Shopping Center was chosen because there was a need to have an easily accessible, premium ice cream offering near the bustling downtown Stamford area.
"Ridgeway is clearly one of the top shopping centers in the city and we love visibility, the neighboring tenants and the available free parking in the center, especially at night when most of our business occurs. We will also use this site to service the thousands of downtown residents through a planned unique delivery system we have been exploring," added Ragusa. "Having grown up in Stamford, I know there is a proven history of ice cream in this center so we are excited. While it took an extended period of time to build the small shop, we feel it's being well received and off to a good start."
