Groups Look to Halt Demolition of Stamford Historic Homes
Several homes on the South End could come under the wrecking ball.

STAMFORD, CT — Five historic structures in Stamford's South End are slated to be torn down unless some local preservation groups can stop the demolition, reports the Stamford Advocate.
Development company Building and Land Technology owns the four houses and former factory on Henry and Garden streets, and it plans to build an apartment complex and park at the location. The company has applied for demolition permits for all five structures.
Residents of the South End area and the city’s Historic Neighborhood Preservation Program and the South End Neighborhood Revitalization Zone have urged the Connecticut Historic Preservation council to halt the planned demolition.
